iPhone XS Max battery drain on standby overnight

Hi,

I purchased an iPhone XS Max 2 days ago. I have heard the standby times are usually the best in iPhones. But yesterday I noticed my battery drain from 95% to 87% in 6.5 hours on standby. Is it normal ?

FYI the location services and background app refresh settings are enabled and I have not yet modified or tailored any of these settings yet.

XS max standby drain "too high" So I have found with a new (but refurb) iPhone XS Max, that following a factory reset and just observing the battery rate over time (not actually using the phone, no extra apps installed, no Apple ID, no GSM) that it will lose 80% within 10 hours. Is that acceptable? If you look at the specifcations of the phone on Apple website, you get: Lasts up to 1.5 hours longer than iPhone X Talk time (wireless): Up to 25 hours Internet use: Up to 13 hours Video playback (wireless): Up to 15 hours Audio playback (wireless): Up to 65 hours Which is clearly totally untrue! Battery health is indicated at 90%, which is supposedly OK. I get the impression that this is a very common phenomenon, but what can one do about it? Buy a new battery?!

Is it safe for the battery to keep Standby Mode on most of the day; and all night? My iphone 14 Pro Max sits by my desktop Mac most of the day when I'm not out; in Standby Mode; then all night on Standby mode by the bed for sleeping. Is this Safe for the Battery; as I've had my iphone X get a swollen battery multiple times because I kept it on a basic charging stand for most of the day. (non magsafe). I now have my iphone X not charging when it's sitting on it's daytime stand. What about the 14 Pro Max? Also were I to unplug my 14 from power while on magsafe; Standy Mode would not work.

Background app refresh will definitely use some battery, so the drop from 95% to 87% just sitting on your counter is probably normal.
