Apple Pencil Crack

My Apple Pencil has developed a crack near the steel edge , and I can’t really remember how, I never dropped it ugly. But the steel internal components are beginning to slide out of the white plastic cylinder and that’s very concerning. I noticed this yesterday. Today a tiny portion of the internals slid out when trying to remove the cap, and I panicked and shoved it back in. It’s not easy to come lose, like you need to apply a bit of force, but I’m concerned on how this stylus is gna last in the long run. What can Apple do about this? I don’t have Apple Care (oops).

Note: it still works perfectly fine but I’m sure it won’t anymore if it falls apart.
