Mirroring iPad Pro to Apple 4k TV, close iPad no longer working

Hi

I recently updated to the iPad Pro and Apple TV 4k, previously I had I think a 3rd gen Apple Tv and iPad Air. When I streamed video via either an app, online or Netflix, once the image was on my TV via screen mirroring, I could close my iPad and the image would still be on my TV.

This no longer works, when I mirror my screen via online, app I have to keep my iPad open, if I close it then screen mirroring stops.

Is there a setting or has updates now regressed and functionality got worse?

Netflix just does not stream at all now.

Not sure why you would want to AirPlay Netflix? It has its own app on Apple TV. Much more convenient, I would think?

AirPlay does need to have the sending device and app active, but it is fine if the screen locks and ‘sleeps’ for basic (in-app) AirPlay.

I use the app as I use someone else's login details, I work away from home so netflix credentials are logged on my iPad.

Also when the screen locks and goes to sleep, streaming or airplay stops. Hence my question as it never used to stop, I could screen mirror and lock my iPad's screen no problems, now I can't.
