i have been trying to backup my iphone 6s (64gb) on iTunes in my Macbook air (32,5 gb free space)
I am connecting the cable, I open the app and it doesn't recognise the device. Has anyone had the same problem?

Are you using a genuine Apple cable? Usually cheaper, 3rd party cables can only charge, but can't do data transfer. If it is, have you authorized your computer in iTunes as well?

Updating my MacBook to OS Mojave solved the problem!
Have you tried a different cable or a different USB port?
