cannot send mail in uk

Mine just started working again so maybe you'll find yours is working soon. If you need help adding a different SMTP server address, here you go:

1. Select Mail>Preferences from the menu bar in the Mail application.
2. Click the Accounts tab.

   
   

3. Highlight the account for which you want to specify an outgoing email server. If it isn't already listed, click the plus sign to add an account. Select the type of account from the screen that opens, enter any requested information, and save the new account. Select it in the account list.
4. Select the Server Settings tab.
5. Choose the preferred server from the drop-down list next to Outgoing Mail Account.
6. If you want to edit or add a new outgoing mail server for an account, click Edit SMTP Server list in the drop-down menu and make the change. Click OK to close the editing screen and then select the preferred server from the drop-down list.

You can try sending in the Safe Mode as a test.

Info only. People have posted the same problem sending emails in the US. Seems to be affecting more than just the UK.

Yep still unable to send via iCloud server...hangs in Outbox then message:

Connection doctor says:

...send just fine with other Gmail servers.

I don't see anything that should be a problem. A post earlier today stated Apple Support told them the problem was solved for some but the software engineers were still working on a final fix.

I've had the same problem for the last 6 hours. I spoke to Apple Support and they confirmed they are having intermittent problems with their SMTP servers and told me to contact them if the problem persists into the morning of the 31st. In the meantime you can easily add another SMTP server (such as Google's smtp.gmail.com) to your list and use that

Working Ok from: i5 iMac Sierra and MacBook Pro ElCapitan? Uh huh. they were not working 24hrs ago?

Booted i7 in Safe Mode...same issue.

Reboot - run EtraCheck see below.

Next step a clean install of Mojave?

Yes I'm in the UK. If you still can't send in the morning it might be worth getting Apple Support to give you a call
