Since I am forced to use Photos with the continual gelding of iPhoto by Apple, I would like to share pictures from Photos to Facebook. However, there is no Facebook extension under SHARE. I've tried to find if there is something to add, but have come up empty. Ideas, please!

Indeed. Apple has withdrawn from trying to maintain special linkages to the proliferating array of social media networks.
Until Facebook creates a Photos extension to post pictures to their system, you have to go about it the other way around:
Open Facebook in a browser, create a new photo post, and use the media browser* in the Open dialog to reach into the System Photos Library to grab pictures. Not nearly as convenient as the direct link that used to be in Photos, but it gets the job done.
* Scroll down in the left column of the Open dialog until you find "Media"; select "Photos" below that header.

or select+drag the photos you want to upload (from "Photos") onto your desktop, and then drag them into the photo/video area on facebook ("what's on your mind" section).
i'm on Photos Version 1.5 (370.42.0), and i have the ability to share to FB.
maybe you have to change a setting within FB itself in order to allow permission? just an idea...
failing that, just drag the photos to your desktop and upload to FB from there.
Just updated my Mac to Mojave 10.14. The share menu no longer has Twitter or Facebook in it's options. Had I known, I would not have updated. Makes it much harder to send things to 3rd party. I hate it.
that's terrible. just another reason why i hate all these "updates"... only causes more problems!
