help with sum formula

I am trying to add up the results of cells in a row that are already the sum of a column. This is the error message; The range E12:G12 can’t be used as a single value. How do I compose the formula to consider only the numbers in the cells and not the formulas.

Thanks for any help

You did not post your formula so it is hard to give any pointers on what you are doing wrong to get that error message. I have an idea but it is just an assumption.. The formula that should work is =SUM(E12:G12)
