my iphone 6 just died

This evening my iPhone 6 just refused to open the screen was black. I put a charger on it and the screen stayed black, no response. I recently had the battery replaced at an Apple store in Indianapolis. It had given no indications of trouble other than recently it didn't want to unlock with either of my finger prints. It unlocked properly with my code. I deleted my stored finger prints and rerecorded them. It then worked fine. That was yesterday. A person at Simply Mac said that the phone is dead and it would be cheaper to upgrade it. Does anyone have a different opinion?

Thanks! It appears that the problem is fixed. I wonder if the problem was a weird software hiccup or it there is a hardware problem. So far (10 hours) everything is fine. The phone was quite warm possibly indicating a rapid drawdown on the battery.

It's technology sh&*t happens, your phone is like a mini computer - sometimes you need fresh restart.

Are you using the phone when it is warm? Do you have a good cellular data signal? - usually if you're in an area with weak cellular data signal it will cause your phone to eat up battery and be warm, because your phone is constantly looking for cell signal.

The phone is normally in an Otter case. I didn't notice anything odd prior to it's failing to wake up. I took it out of the case to take to Simply Mac and noticed then that it was very warm. As to cellular coverage, it was no different than ordinary. I was in a building in town as I had been many times before. So I doubt that cell seeking was the problem.
