mini display port plug to firewire 800 ?

I have an early 2011 macbook pro, connected via thunderbolt port to an older apple 30 inch cinema display via the dual link to dvi adapter, it works great at full resolution.

I realize that the cinema display has a mini display port plug to supply the video, but is it possible to use the mini display port plug to an adapter to use in the firewire 800 port ?

the reason is that i am upgrading my audio interface and it has to connect to the thunderbolt port on my mbp, i only have one thunderbolt port, so i won't be able to use my display, unless i can somehow purchase an adapter that has a female mini display port to firewire 800 ?

there is no such standard converter from Firewire on the computer to Mini-DisplayPort devices, or the reverse.

the usual approach the tying to "multiply" your Thunderbolt ports is to connect a device, such as a dock, that has TWO or more Thunderbolt ports

I had a feeling this didn’t exist:-)

I actually looked into the docking station you mentioned, but it only has two thunderbolt ports, and I would have to use one to connect the dock to the mbp, and that would only leave one available for the display or interface, not both.

Unless they make a dock that supports a mini display port for the Cinema Display, and two thunderbolt ports ?
