Burn Win 10 to DVD

I have burned both an .iso and .cdr to DVD on a High Sierra mac. When I view Get Info in the Disk Utility neither DVDs are listed as bootable. What do I need to do to burn a bootable DVD from an .iso/.cdr image?

Apple have changed what model Macs and what versions of macOS can install what versions of Windows.

According to - Install Windows on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple Support your iMac does not support installing Windows 10. It does support installing Windows 7 and 8.1 but only with the version of Boot Camp Assistant included in Sierra rather than High Sierra.

Now this is according to Apple and enforced by their Boot Camp Assistant. It should be possible to override this but it may require a high level of expertise and more time. For example you might need to manually install drivers after installing Windows because the Boot Camp software will refuse to do it for you.

As an example I was able to install Windows 10 on my Mac Pro 2010 even though this is no longer listed as a supported configuration. (I was lucky in that I did this before Apple removed this as an official config as I did this during the Windows 10 beta phase.)

This article - Tips: How to make Windows 10 install media on macOS High Sierra describes how to manually make a bootable USB containing the Windows 10 installer. Once you have (hopefully) installed Windows you will need to likely manually install additional drivers. The USB drive that Boot Camp creates has a master installer which will probably reject your Mac and Windows 10, however hidden in the folders on the same USB will be individually installers and some or most of these hopefully will run individually.
