Custom voice mail issues after update.

In custom voice mail, I could previously record a custom message and after saving it, I could play it over and over at any time by selecting it, however, somewhere along one of the IOS updates, I lost that feature and I can only play my custom message once, after that, the “play” letters are grayed out and I cannot replay my custom voice message. I know for a fact that it has not been a problem for the iPhone X, but it has affected my iPhone 6s + and other phones below the X model. This is not, therefore a hardware issue with my phone, nor is it a software issue per say, on my device, but an issue that perhaps Apple is yet not aware of, and it could be remedied with a software upgrade. Please advise.

I have the same issue. I have AT&T and am using an iPhone 8 Plus with the current OS installed. You are correct. I was able to record a custom greeting and play it back, however, once saved, the Play button is grayed out and you cannot replay it once saved. I did contact AT&T and they did some very novice troubleshooting, but ultimately said it was most likely an Apple IOS issue as my greeting is properly saved and accessed from their hardware. I doubt Apple would make this a priority (or even see this threat for that matter), but small business owners like myself find these little nuances, in totality, to be a time consumer and therefor not optimal for business use. Just the same, I raise my hand in that this is an issue I am finding too.

I am aware of the carrier and how certain components apply to the carrier, however, the concern is with the “PLAY” feature, once you record your personal message, it only allows you to play it once. The “PLAY” is grayed out after playing the recorded message once. This was not happening previously and it apparently does not affect the iPhone X. As you can see on your iPhone X, you can record a personal message, play it, save it, and the “PLAY” letters remain blue, and you can replay or review your recorded message all day if you wanted to.
