iPhone 7 microphones

Hello,

Since the update 12.0.1 my microphones do not work anymore so I can not call or do vocal notes. I tried to backup and restore my iphone but the problem persists. I went to an Apple store but they asked me like 400$ to change my iPhone. It’s too expensive while it's not even my fault (iPhone 7-128go).

What can I do please ?

Tanks for reading.

If Apple offered you an out of warranty replacement, it would indicate there is a hardware issue with your phone. It may be that the update has brought the problem to light. While it was working, when they checked the device it was showing hardware. If you decide you do not wish to replace it that is your business. The only other thing anyone can recommend is to try the troubleshooting here, If the microphones on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch aren't working - Apple Support

You can also try updating to iOS 12.1, since you indicate you are iOS 12.0.1.

No one said that you created the hardware problem, nor did Apple. I'm saying that devices fail, and it is not unusual for hardware issues to manifest themselves during software updates. They cannot take the stress of the changes. You are welcome to view it as you do, but the fact is that the hardware failed and the device is outside of warranty. Apple is the only company that provides an out of warranty replacement at a reduced price, that still comes with an additional 90 day warranty. You can take that, or purchase a new phone. That decision is up to you. Good luck with your decision.
