Kappy, "ignore it and enter your own password" is not an option when you are using your own third-party password manager. When I'm trying to use 1Password (or Last Pass), and I'm trying to fill the password of my choosing, Safari butts in with it's suggestion and stops the process. It's clumsy, oafish, and presumptuous. I don't mind having Safari store my passwords in Keychain, and in fact, I want it to do so.
But I don't want Safari to make password suggestions, and it would be nice to be able to suppress this feature.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.
You've gotta be using sarcasm...........
When I am signing up for a new website and click the password field Safari recommends a strong password. I'm sick of the pop up I have to always exit out of to use their recommended password!!!!
To clarify, ONLY disable the "Strong Password" functionality *without* losing the AutoFill of stored user names and passwords functionality. Just tired of having to click "Don't Use" every single time. Thanks.
Provide a password. What is the password in Safari for? I don't recall that Safari requires a password.
That isn't a Safari password rather the result of Safari's Password Generator. Ignore it and enter your own password. Safari should then ask if you want to save it.
I know. Why is everyone just okay with this. Is there NO WAY TO DISABLE THIS?!?!!
