Mojave refuses to instal on MBP Pro

I tried downloading and installing Mojave twice and both time the MBP rebooted back to HighSierra. The first time it showed an update error "Error loading installer resources" and showed an Error Log screen. On restart the MBP came on to my pre-install state and then I re-downloaded the update and tried installing again. This time too, the install failed (no error message this time) and just came back to HighSierra. I know the 2018 models have some issues with Mojave but mine is a mid-2015 MBP. It should not have any such issue that I know of...
