Spotify launching on login

I saw this posted elsewhere without a proper solution, and the thread was closed so I thought I'd post mine here.

Since updating to Mojave, Spotify has suddenly started appearing in my dock any time I restart. It is not part of the apps that are supposed to launch upon startup. After doing a little digging, I found this article (https://nektony.com/blog/stop-spotify-opening-on-startup) which helped me find the solution.

Essentially, Spotify has it's own settings that override your Mac settings on if it opens on startup, and how it will be displayed upon opening. Go to the Settings in the Spotify app, hit the "Advanced Settings" tab, and scroll down until you see "Startup and Window Behavior". Change the "Open Spotify automatically after you log in to your computer" to "no" and that should fix the problem.

I'm guessing when I did the OS update this setting became reverted, as this was never an issue before the update.
