Custom Error Bars with Multiple Trendlines

I have been trying for a while to figure out how to add custom error bars to graphs where I have multiple trendlines (two sets of data). You can add error bars normally to the first graph then add the second set of data but you are unable to add error bars to this second set as the custom error bar box is just greyed out and unable to be used.

Anyone know if this is possible?

In the screenshot below, I created series A and its custom error data then made a chart with it. I then added columns for series B and its error data, added set B to the chart and selected its error bar data. The example error data is whacky so that you can better see on the chart that there is a difference in the error bars and between the + and - bars. Nothing was grayed out.

Maybe if you post a screenshot of the problem we might see something that will lead to a solution.
