When i am on Group FaceTime I can’t see the people I’m face timing. I just see the neon colo dots with their names. I can hear them though. my camera optio is Alda not av it will not allo my to turn my camera on or off.
You need a 6s or newer to have the video capability in Group Facetime:

My friends have a 6 and they are able to use the camera
They most likely have a 6s, which looks identical to a 6 but has the newer hardware required for Group FaceTime.

On Group FaceTime my camera option is not available and my iOS is up to date (12.1)
