Where is the cent (¢) symbol in iOS 12.0.1?

Used to be able to find the ¢ sign by holding down the $ key until a list of other symbols appears.

in iOS 12.01 it no longer appears here?

Did you really remove the ¢ sign Apple?

Seems like a ridiculous thing to do.

Thanks for the note, I definitely see the glitch.

I tried what you said, by adding the English US keyboard. My default keyboard is English Canada, which I’d prefer to keep.

When I add the En US keyboard, I can see the cents icon when I hold down the $ sign. When I have both US and Canadian Keyboards added, the cents sign appears as normal when holding down $ sign on both keyboards.

When I remove the US keyboard (I have no reason to have 2 En keyboards) the cents sign disappears from the Canadian keyboard. Seems like the glitch causes the cents sign to be removed if the US Keyboard is not added.

Hopefully Apple can update a fix for this.

I don’t need to use this symbol often, but at least I know the workaround to access it.

Hello theEsco,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that you are no longer able to locate the ¢ character on your iPhone. This character has not been removed and can still be accessed by touching and holding on the $ character.

View the "Enter accented letters or other characters while typing" section in the iPhone User Guide to learn more:

Use international keyboards on iPhone - iPhone User Guide

You may want to consider restarting your iPhone, update the iOS, then check if the character appears:

If you're still not seeing it, some additional information that would be helpful to know is: are you able to view and select other accented characters and letters? Are you using a third-party keyboard or the default keyboard?

Cheers!
