I have the iPhone XR and when I try to set a Live Photo as the lock screen it does not give me the Live Photo option and I have tried pushing down on the screen but it does not move. What is going on?

Why does the Live Photo’s work as a lock screen?

iPhone XR, iOS 12.0.1

So... I’ve been posting this on all the posts with this concern. I was on the phone for over an hour today with apple support. At first they didn’t know why the live wallpaper feature wasn’t available on the XR. She was about to escalate the issue until she got a response from, I’m guessing, one of the engineers. Apparently that feature isn’t available on the XR. But if enough people call in and voice their concerns, support reps can vote on it and possibly get them to develop a way to add it possibly in a new iOS update. So I’d suggest actually calling apple support. Hope that helps.

Greetings, katmcg513.

Congratulations on your iPhone XR! I see that you're having an issue using a Live Photo as the wallpaper, though. You're not given the option to select a Live Photo when making the change, and the photo doesn't animate. I'm happy to help.

Take and edit Live Photos -- Take one or two Live Photos, then check if a Live Photo option is available to change the wallpaper to. If it's still not there, restart your iPhone XR. Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch Let me know if the Live Photo option appeared.

Change 3D Touch sensitivity on your iPhone -- If Live Photos aren't animating, adjust the sensitivity of 3D Touch. You do need to press firmly and hold for a second for the animation to start.

Let me know how that goes, and take care!
