Removing MacDefender

I've tried the suggested procedure to remove MacDefender thru the Activity Monitor. Can't remove it. When I click Quit or Force Quit nothing happens. The MacDefender remains. Suggestions?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), iOS 10.1, Mojave OS

I cannot get rid of MacOSDefender The pop up window asking me to allow access to control Safari is always there. I followed the instructions given by mac support, but they didn't work; activity monitor doesn't want to quit or force quit MacOSDefender.Can yo help me please!

Have you tried Malwarebytes?Malwarebytes is about the most proven anti-malware software for Mac.
