Problem to set up apple ID in Iphone XS Max

I've been trying to set up my brand new iphone XS Max for the first time, but it has been buffering for 12 hours

with the message "Setting up Apple ID". I can not turn it off or re-start. Any idea of what shall I do?

Hello rosarime,

Congratulations on your new iPhone XS Max! It's my understanding your iPhone has become unresponsive while trying to set up your Apple ID. I know any issues with a new device can be very concerning. I'm happy to help.

If you haven't already, I recommend trying to force your iPhone to restart. Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen
