How do I connect my new iPad pro to my Mac (which doesn't have USB C)?

Just bought a new iPad Pro 11" and was hoping to connect it up to my iMac which doesn't have a USB C port as I wanted to restore from a local backup of my old model. I can't seem to find any USB 3 to USB C cables at Apple. Is it OK to get one online from somewhere? Or is there a lightning to USB C female to female convertor maybe?
