Hello dextercamano,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to record a new voicemail greeting on your iPhone, as you get an error message. To help with your situation, please make sure your iPhone software is up to date and also you have all available carrier updates installed with the steps in these Apple resources.

Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad

If you're still having this issue, please follow these steps for voicemail issues:

If you need help, try these steps. Check your Visual Voicemail after each step:

  1. Try to call someone to check your cellular network connection.
  2. Make sure that you set up your voicemail. To check, dial your phone number from your iPhone.
  3. Call your iPhone from another phone and try to leave yourself a voicemail.
  4. Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset Network Settings.

Set up Visual Voicemail on your iPhone

Cheers!
