Music Glitching and Skipping Like a Scratched CD

I have been having a problem with Apple Music where it will start glitching or skipping, and it really reminds me of a scratched CD. This is happening increasingly frequently wherever I am, whatever time of day, whether I have WiFi or not. I have not yet downloaded the iOS 12 yet as I am trying to free up some storage to try and download it. Would downloading it fix this problem? If not, does anyone know something that will?

Update: I installed iOS 12 and I have yet to experience this problem again.

give it a few more days it will start. ive about had it with dictation apparently unfixable no matter how many people complain and no matter how long Support seems to think its an isolated problem. now music playback is terrible and we get is update or reboot or some combination of reset this and nothing works. starting to think we are seeibg the peter principle at work...
