My camera off button is grayed out

when I go onto Group FaceTime my friends can’t see my face. My camera is off but the camera on button is grayed out so I can’t click it

I can't turn my camera on during face time I have an iPhone 6 and I've tried to group face time with my friends but I can't see their faces and they can't see mine.One of those friends have an Iphone 5 and hers works just fine. I don't know how to fix this.

The article you attached above states:

"To use Group FaceTime video calls, you need an iPhone 6S or later ..."

Your profile indicates you have an iPhone 6.

Therefore, it cannot perform Group FaceTime video.
