Vat for outside europe companies

Hello. I would like to by an iphone on my conpany’s name. A friend of mine is coming to the US and was wondering whether he can buy the iphone for me on the company name. In addition, I would like to ask whether VAT is charged on purchases from companies outside the US. Is it possible to order the iphone from Apple’s website on my company’s details and the iphone to be shipped in the address my friend is staying and still without the charge of VAT( if applicable). If you have any other ideas, please let me know. I would appreciate it.

Your friend will need a US credit card with a US address in order to pay for the iPhone (or cash). He will be charged the appropriate sales tax for whatever state he buys the iPhone at. The VAT question would have to be answered by someone in your jurisdiction. You can't order from outside the US without a valid US credit card. Finally, you will have to return to the US for any warranty service on the phone.
