downloading photos from an SD card
my camera records images on an SD card. My iMac has a slot for an SD card. How do I transfer the images to iPhoto?

Insert the SD card in the SD card slot in your Mac, and it should appear directly in the iPhoto application for you to transfer photos from.

While it uses Photos, iPhoto works very similarly to it.
