I'm using both an LG Ultrafine 5K and an LG Ultrafine 4K at the same time on my new Mac Mini (2018). The 5K needs to be the main monitor using the Thunderbolt cable and the 4K is a secondary using the included USB-C cable. Good luck to you! The webcam in the 5K works great with FaceTime and PhotoBooth. The 4K doesn't have a webcam.

It's working for me as a regular monitor, but I can NOT get any video applications (FaceTime, PhotoBooth) to recognize the webcam built into the bezel of the LG monitor.
As far as I can tell the LG Ultrafine 4K should be compatible. The LG Ultrafine 5K however is likely to not be compatible. Not having either of these screens myself I cannot speak from experience only based on what I believe the specs should allow.
Can you provide a bit more detail about getting the LG Ultrafine 5K working on the Mac mini?
What resolution do you get? What exact cables and adapters did you use? Was a separate cable needed to support the webcam?
Thanks.
It merely says "default for display", so I'm not sure how to get resolution beyond that? It does appear to be the max resolution for the 5K.
I'm just using the Thunderbolt cable that came with the monitor and plugging it in as instructed. On the Mini side, it's one of the Thunderbolt ports.
No separate cable required for the webcam - it's built into the bezel of the monitor.
My original post was wrong - I thought that the 4K had a webcam in the bezel, but it was merely an ambient light sensor. My apologies. I wish I could remove the post!
