WIFI Turning off during startup

Hi I got similar problems.

It is been working fine and then since a few months I have the problem. I noticed it happens after a shutdown or the power shutting down the computer . When I restart it starts properly, after the logon, the network as I can see it, but it looks like is following some information from the shutdown event and it stops the network. clicking on it will start the wifi with no problem. I believe, the shutdown stack event is not cleared properly at the restart , and the wifi just switch off. So it must be an app that can't quit the network at shutdown ...

Hope this make sense :-)

Thanks

Jose

Hello, lillieperez!

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities, it's great to have you here. I understand that your Mac isn't automatically connecting to Wi-Fi after restarting your computer. I can help figure this out with you.

To start, I'd recommend removing that network and then adding it back one more time. Be sure that before removing the account that you have access to the Wi-Fi password, if your network is encrypted, as this process will require you to re-enter that password. You can follow the steps here:

In macOS:

  1. Choose Apple () menu > System Preferences.
  2. Click Network, then select Wi-Fi in the sidebar on the left.
  3. Click the Advanced button.
  4. Select the Wi‑Fi network that you're trying to join, then click the Remove (–) button. If you're asked to confirm, click Remove.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Try to join the network again.

Those steps are from an article titled If you need help with your Wi‑Fi password .

If the issue continues to occur after reconnecting, I'd recommend that we isolate the issue further by testing it in a new administrator account. To test in an issue in a new user account, check out this article: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac .

I hope that this information is useful to you.

Best regards.
