Excel Issue After Update to MacOS Mojave

I upgraded to Mojave two days ago, and when using MS Excel today I ran into a snag.

When I copy down a formula, it also copies down the result from the original cell. The cell references are not unchangeable (e.g. $A$1, but A1). I have to click in each cell with the formula to have it update to the actual calculated result.

Does anyone else have this experience, and is there a fix/workaround? I did not experience this problem before the update and I use Excel nearly every day.

Thanks.

I had to upgrade to version 2016 earlier this year, because I couldn’t perform the functions I needed to do for one of my college classes. Unfortunately, even after the update there are still many functions Excel can’t do. As it turns out, my Googling revealed the issue you mention, so I would have had to upgrade anyway (even MS stopped supporting 2011 last year). It is my understanding that no 32-bit applications are supported with Mojave. Easy to double-check in the “about Apple” area.
