Unable to open new documents (eg: eclipse find) in tab
I came across following workaround:
System Preferences -> Dock.
Click the “Prefer tabs when opening documents” pop-up menu, then choose Always.
But the issue is that I am unable to find this option “Prefer tabs when opening documents” in Dock section of System Preferences.
My OS is OS X El Captain (10.11.6)
Mac Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)
That option was not available until Sierra, OS X 10.12, which would explain why you (& I) can't see it in El Capitan.

Peggy just explained, it doesn't exist in El Capitan.
so there is no way in El Captain to "set opening of new documents in tab instead of new window"?
