Password reset

MacBook no longer recognizes user login password. Password reset attempt result is error message “an internal error has occurred”. I cannot unlock/ mount the drive due to this password issue.

I have gone through this process of resetting the password. After I type in the new passwords, I get an error message saying and internal error has occurred. Beyond that it seems like there is a drive mount issue. I can not select or unlock the drive to mount because of the same password issue.


I hope that makes sense...


Am I better off taking it to a repair shop? I am not currently in the US
