imessage only dinging on computer not on phone

I just added my iMessage to my new Mac and now my messages, while showing up on both phone and computer, are only dinging on the computer. Is there a setting for this that I can change so I get dings on my phone for my messages again?

phone, pad, Mac Incoming messages show on my phone, but not necessarily on either the Mac or the Pad. Likewise, messages I send from iMessage don't always show on the other two devices. What are the settings on the Phone, the Pad and the Mac that allow iMessage to show on all of my devices?

Is your iPhone on 'Do Not Disturb' or on 'Silent'/'Vibrate'?
