Putting music for spotify onto ipod
What process do I need to go to in order to put music from Spotify onto my ipod?

You can't. The iPod Nano (3rd generation) is not a supported device for that service. All the supported devices have internet connectivity on their own. The music needs to be downloaded from the app on that device itself.
