Safari and Citrix Receiver ICA files not auto launching

Hello,

Since moving to Mojave, Safari will no longer autolaunch Citrix ICA files. It does download them and clicking on the file does launch Citrix Receiver but this used to be a one step launch, verses many now.

I've tried:

1. Installing the newest version of Citrix Receiver
2. Calling Citrix for assistance. They shared that this is a security feature in Safari's Safe Download List.
3. Ensuring that the ICA file is set to autolaunch via properties, "Open With"

None of them have met with any success.

I did create a new preference file that adds ICA files to Safari's Safe List which works but Im wondering if there is another way?
