How to send invitation to friends from a Calendar event in iOS using my friends phone number only?

As an iOS user, I want to invite other iOS users to my calendar event just by having their name and iPhone number in my Contact list.

Example:

My friend has an iPhone and he uses it. I only have his phone number, not e-mail address. I invite him to the event. The invitation is never sent.

Is it possible to send and accept an invitation just by a phone number, without an e-mail? Since they all have iPhones (and even if they didn't), it makes sense that it should be possible.

iPhone 8, null

I understand and I thought about doing that. I appreciate that you are giving an alternative that might be helpful for some people, but for me it's a hacky solution. You have to create a new calendar first, share it and then manage different calendars, one per every event when the "invitee list" is different. You don't know who accepted the event's invitation because there isn't one (hence the quotes).

The Calendar app should be able to manage the invitee list by people's phone number and send invitations via iMessenger or SMS.
