reading iBooks on MacBook Pro

Does anyone have a fix for this problem: some of my books from iBooks transfer over nicely to my MacBook Pro (new in August, running 10.14.1) and some - most of the new purchases - gives e this error:

This book can't be opened

This book is corrupt

However "this book" - whichever one I'm trying to open here - opens and reads just fine on the phone and the iPad.

MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018, 4 TBT3), macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)

Purchased Books open on iPad but not on MacBook Pro All the books I have purchased I have previously been able to read on my iPad, iPhone and MacBook Pro. Now, when launched on my MacBook Pro (Early 2015, Monterey 12.4) all these books give the following error: "Cannot Open “(Title}" "It is formatted incorrectly, or is not a format that Apple Books can open." Strangely, some purchased books which I have read are tagged "New" and these will open. All others tagged "Finished" or a percentage read will not open. Accessing them via the bookstore (choosing Read or Sample) results in the error above. PDFs I have imported to Books continue to open OK.

Books Won't Open on iMac Many of the books in my library won't open on my iMac. The books came from Apple's store and were originally purchased on a very old iPad (which still works!). The books were transferred from the iPad to this iMac (27 inch, late 2015, OS 12.3.1). The books appear in the library when Books is opened, but clicking on many of them does nothing while others open. I'm also confused because, in the sidebar, the "Books" section under "Library" seems to contain all of the books I've purchased. However, "My Books" under "My Collection" contains less than half. I haven't tried opening any pdfs collected from other sources. Does anyone know why all of my books won't open? Appreciate any help.

Upload books into Ibook From a week when I upload books that I didn't buy from Apple the books id uploaded but when I try to read it in comes out an error message ""The operation couldn’t be completed. (BKAgentServiceErrorDomain error 8.)" This is happen also for all my books that was in the library. Before I was able to read them all.
