Safari Issue

MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2013)

1.7 GHz Intel Core i7

8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

MacOS Mojave 10.14.1 (18B75)

Safari Version 12.0.1 (14606.2.104.1.1)

I am unable to access a webpage that I use with some regularity. I recently upgraded to Mojave along with the Safari upgrade. I have been using the DuckDuckGo search extension for some time but disabled it when there appeared to be a compatibility issue with the latest Safari version. Also, I recently ran Malwarebytes. It uncovered nine files which it recommended removing which I did. A week or so later when I tried to access the web site/page and I get this message:

User uploaded file

I've cleared history and all cookies, but it hasn't helped. I've had no problems with other sites/pages.

Eric,

Sorry about the delay, busy week. Tried resetting the router 3 days ago without success. I also tried bypassing the router using a bluetooth hotspot on my iPhone (Verizon) and this was also unsuccessful. I should add that all along I have been able to get successfully to the site/page on my 10" iPad pro using the same router at home the computer uses.

Today I tried again: deleted cookie cache/history, shut off router, turned off wifi on the computer, restarted the computer, restarted the router and turned on the computer's wifi. No good!

Then, while still in Safari with the 'cannot connect to server' message in the open window. I thought of maybe trying a different sequence and dejectedly prepared mentally to admit my defeat to you yet again.

I went to the Safari preferences privacy page, clicked the 'manage website data' button, then clicked the 'remove all' button. The my medicare.gov page immediately reloaded in the background and is now working perfectly! Here's a screen shot of the moment after this happened:

Before anything else, I want to thank you for you help with this issue. But I also want to ask if you have any explanation. If you do, please set me know.

THANK YOU!

1. Went back and deleted user history and cookies again, closed Safari, created new user account (standard), shut down the computer and logged into new account: 😟 It didn't work, same problem.

2. Again emptied history and cookies, closed safari and shut down the machine. Then I logged it successfully using Safe Mode: 😟😟 Same issue... Your instructions indicated to run EtreCheck IF Safe Mode worked but I ran it anyway. See report below.

3. Suggestions? I do use time machine and as I recall I backed up before updating to Mojave 10.14.1 (11/08/2018) and Safari 12.0 (09/17/2018?--->current Safari 12.0.1
