3 day old iphone XR message app no longer working. tried everything but a full reset.
any ideas?

Then it sounds like it is crashing; I would take your phone to your local Apple Store to be diagnosed.

Does it just bounce and never stop bouncing? Does it not even bounce? What are you seeing?
If you can't resolve this, you may want to take your phone to your local Apple Store for analysis.

If still unresolved after you restore it and set up as new, then you need to contact Apple support.
