How to control the FaceTime HD camera brightness/expose?

How can I control the FaceTime HD camera brightness/expose? I could not find a setting for this on 2017 MacBook Pro 13 w/o touch bar. My FaceTime HD is too dark in low light condition but my iPhone 6 FaceTime is doing great in low light condition.

went for the non technical implementation: some tape and black card, and simply covered the light sensor to the left of the camera.
