Where do I enter the verification code in my iCloud window??

I am trying to sign into my iCloud account in settings on my MacBook Pro to download apps. I sign in with my passcode but then it says to enter a verification code that was sent to my iPhone. Fine. But then there is no drop down window anywhere on the screen to enter the code. I have looked everywhere. PLEASE END MY FRUSTRATION.🙏🏼
