I have an all in one printer which is a Canon MP240, however I cannot find a driver for it so I used the Canon MP230 driver. The two printers look identical. I'm able to print just fine, but when I launch image capture, I do not see the scanner listed there.
Your printer is turned on? That ( your screenshot) is what looks like if printer is not turned on.
check to be sure it’s on.
then click devices or shared and see what happens.
If you can't print from your Mac or iOS device - Apple Support
You will see your printer listed in Image Capture.(make sure your printer is turn on)
Once you click on it, it will launch the scanner and it will say scanner is warming up, then the entire scanner window appears like this:
I do not see driver for MP240 on the list yet.
Please check “ share this printer on network”.

I did locate a TWAIN driver for the canon MP 240 and installed it but that did not fix the issue.
Yes it is turned on. When I go to printers and scanners I see the printer is on and is idle.
