Is AWS EC2 18.232.18.150 used by Apple?

Every time I open Safari Little Snitch halts an outbound connection to "ec2-18-232-18-150.compute-1.amazonaws.com." I have searched for this IP address and cannot find mention of it.

Is it used by Apple? If so, can anyone point to an official Apple statement of such?

whois -a 18.232.18.150 is in the range of addresses used by Amazon Technologies. Apple announced last year that they would be migrating hosted storage from Google servers to Amazon EC2 servers in the future, though what those services are may remain Apple and Amazon private.

However, it may or may not be an Apple process attempting to connect to that specific Amazon EC2 server. Normal traceroute to that server hangs, while Layer Four Traceroute (brew info LFT) shows the exact Amazon EC2 server name.
