Motion update

Apple's ProApps have just been updated and I have taken advantage of that, however I am being stifled with the

Motion update I have v.5.4.1 and the update is v.5.4.2. I've not been notified of this nor does its availability show up in the AppStore for me to download. I go to AppStore to the Motion listing and click on "download." I then get a dialog box stating: "We could not complete your purchase. Motion is already installed on this computer. Choose Software Update from the Apple menu to check for available updates."

So first, yes, I know it's already installed. Second, there is no "Software Update" under the Apple menu. Third, I'm already at the software update page. That's how I got to this point. So why am I not being allowed to update Motion?

The text misses a step:

under the menu, goto 'System Preferences' - there is a 'Software Update' button…

Or…

Launch App Store, check you're logged-in with the AppleID you purchased Motion with, and select 'Updates' - then, latest updates (supported by your system) are listed.

Interesting.

I”ve never seen a software update syspref before. Is that recent? Well regardless, i selected it and it showed me two available updates that didn’t show up in the AppStore but neither was Motion!

So I went to AppStore which still just showed in the window what my recent updates were. My name and face were down bottom left, implying I was signed in. So I clicked on my name bringing up my Purchased Apps. There was Motion with the cloud/download icon. I clicked it and the update was downloaded.

So there you have it. Thanks for pointing to other potential avenues!
