Sometimes in the middle of a FaceTime conversation on my iPhoneX the screen image would freeze and display ‘paused’ in the middle. I can still carry a conversation with the other party, but I can no longer see them. How do I ‘unpause’ the screen?

When I am on a FaceTime call, the image takes up the whole screen of my iphoneX. At the bottom of the image is the red ‘hangup call’ button in the middle, as well as a gray ‘mute’ button to the right of it and another gray button (whose function I am not sure of) to the left of it.
I do not see any ‘Facetime’ icon.
Either double tap your home button and click on the face time app. Or go to home screen and click on the green bar across the top of your screen
Bring up the dock. The icon is there. Just slide up the dock to see icon.
How do I unpause FaceTime on my iPhone?
