WiFi and Bluetooth On/Off

Hi 🙂

We can turn on WiFi and Bluetooth from control center. And why there is no option to turn off?

We have to go to Settings to turn 'em off, then whats the use of this short cut? 😕 Confused.

The controls in the the Control Center do not turn Wi-Fi on or off. They disconnect currently connected devices but leave Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on. See: Use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi in Control Center with iOS 11 - Apple Support. Thus they have a completely different function than turning Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on or off.

To actually turn them on or off go to Settings/Wi-Fi. There are other alternatives:

  • "Hey Siri, turn off Wi-Fi"
  • Hold the HOME button and say "Turn off Wi-Fi"

Well half a shortcut is better than none, as most people are more in a hurry to turn something on than off.

Then going in settings to turn them off, you are sure they are off. Why!

Here is why: actually in the shortcut you can turn them off (sort of) you can disable them, which is (sort of) off.

Then you can even renable them, and when you want to make sure they are really off, you go to settings.

Try it: turn Hotspot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth on any way you like Shortcut or Settings, open the shortcut then long press the four network icons till it expands, and then there were 6, now try turning any off then on and see what they say.

Experiment a little to see how they all work. "Security"??????
