Well, I've never had the pleasure(?) of experiencing chopped liver, so I wasn't sure what it even looked like.

Having grown up with the phrase, "What am I, chopped liver?" I always assumed that it was something undesirable. So I never actively pursued trying it either.

The reason for that phrase is that chopped liver was an inexpensive staple food in most immigrant Jewish households so it implied a lack of speciality. But oh, the joys of good chopped liver. Of course, just thinking about it makes your arteries slam shut:)
