fullscreen glitch with Netflix on subtitles in Safari

on my brand new MBP 13" I noticed an annoying bug: when watching Netflix in fullscreen mode the screen glitches/the picture enlarges vertically about 1 cm on the upper and Lowe side for s split second each time the subtitle line disappears. when watching in a maximized window there is no problem. I already tried re-installing MS Silverlight, rebooting clearing the PRAM, but the bug is still there. is anybody familiar with this problem ? what can I do to solve it (except using another browser)?

(MBP 2018 16 GB quadcore I5)

MacBook Pro TouchBar and Touch ID, macOS Mojave (10.14.1)

Did you manage to find a solution? Same here MacBook Pro 15" late 2016.

Video "flickers horizontally"after subtitle or media control dissapears in Netflix or Youtube fullscreen in safari.

Only happens when integrated GPU is used, on dedicated everything is fine.

I have the same problem. it´s safari. it´s buggy for a looooooooooong time. no fix in sight. just use another browser.

I already tried re-installing MS Silverlight,

MSSilverLight has been abandoned, and is no longer appropriate for use with these and other services like them.

ok good to know, still, Safari keeps showing this problem (Firefox doesn't BTW)

Try checking you Display Settings for scaling. I had my scaling set to "More Space" and was getting the same issue. Really annoying. Set it to "Default" and Netflix started maintaining its aspect ratio in the normal fashion during subtitle generation.

You appear to be correct, checking to "native" resolution does appears to resolve the issue.

However, for MacBook Pro 2016 and newer, the "default" resolution isn't the native one. So it requires to pick scaled "looks like 1440x900"...

not really a fix, just workaround, but interesting.
