Amazon and AppleCare+ Eligibility

If I purchase a new (latest model) 2018 Macbook Air from Amazon Prime, will the device be eligible for AppleCare+ coverage?

I want to know before I buy. The same brand new Air is significantly less on Amazon than through Apple.

Amazon currently is NOT an Apple Authorized Reseller. Instead most Apple products sold on Amazon are through third-party resellers, that, may or may not, be Apple Authorized Resellers.

However, that is supposed to change in the near future as Amazon itself is to become an official reseller of Apple products.

Like Limnos has mentioned, double-check the seller for the product you are interested in purchasing. If they are a qualified Apple reseller, then you should be able to purchase an AppleCare+ extended service plan with the device.

I think it is prudent to double-check with Amazon before you make the purchase. As you know Apple's policy is that you can always purchase an AppleCare+ service plan within 60 days of the original purchase date for qualifying Apple products. I believe this holds true for both Apple Store (brick & mortar or online) and Apple Authorized Resellers.

Tesserax, I understand that Amazon's thousands of individual sellers are not authorized by Apple--no worries there.

Let me clarify my original post. The item in particular that I am considering is being sold through Amazon's Apple Store, which states that it is an Apple Authorized Reseller. Amazon even sells a variety of AppleCare and AppleCare+ plans. They are simply currently sold out of AppleCare+ plans for Macs

...is this perhaps a clever bit of wording and marketing and am I misunderstanding?

As for the seller, it is literally listed as "Amazon.com" and eligible for Prime, which brings me *very confused* back to my analysis of the Amazon Apple Storefront...
