New Mac Not Eligible for AppleCare

Hello,

I bought today a new Macbook Pro 13.3in with the M1 chip from Best Buy. I did not buy AppleCare through them because I always do this afterwards when I get home for my products. When I go online to purchase the coverage, however, it says that my product is not eligible to purchase AppleCare. Is this the case (and if so, why?) or is it an issue with me buying the Mac today and needing time for it to process with Apple?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.0

I have had a similar problem with a new device and just called Apple using the number provided in the "How to buy" paragraph of AppleCare Products.
